  Our Beginning

  The day that started it all!

  Sarah was coming in for her first day volunteering at Methodist Children’s Hospital while John was clocking in for another shift there. The two ran into each other in the office, where John quickly scurried away. Later, they ate lunch with the team and began talking more, getting to know each other for the first time.

  Our First Date

  The first of many!

  John finally worked up the courage to ask Sarah on a date after kissing her on New Year's Eve. They planned a trip to the San Antonio Aquarium followed by dinner after. The aquarium was interesting, to say the least, but it made for a fantastic first date, and the two have since visited several more. Keeping with the interesting theme, Sarah and John somehow ended up at Quarry Hofbrau for dinner. To this day, neither of them is quite sure how they landed there, and while they have not been back since, the date was special enough to lead to a second.

  Our Second Date

  Sarah's first yes!

  Sarah and John's second date was at Monster Mini Golf. After a long and grueling battle across 18 holes, Sarah absolutely destroyed John and still has the scorecard to prove it. For some reason, the two have not played much mini golf since. After another successful date, John asked Sarah to officially be her boyfriend, and Sarah said yes! Was it Sarah’s impressive mini golf skills that sealed the deal? We may never know.

  Our One Year

  Celebrating a year of us!

  Sarah and John had a year full of love, joy, and plenty of jokes. To celebrate one year since Sarah’s victory over John - or, as others may call it, one year of dating - the two headed down to the Texas State Aquarium before spending time at the beach. Although it was a tad cold, that did not stop them from reminiscing about their first year together and looking toward the future with smiles on their faces.

  Our First Trip

  The Lover's State!

  When John and Sarah started dating, John made a silly promise to Sarah: he was going to kiss her in all 50 states - a feat Sarah was more than happy to help him accomplish. Their travel adventures began with the perfect first state: the Lover’s State! The two took a weekend trip to Virginia for a wedding and used the opportunity to cross their second state off the list.

  Our Engagement

  Sarah's second yes!

  Throughout the two years Sarah and John had known each other, they always knew there was something truly special between them. The countless dates, conversations, trips, memories, photos, and moments together were all leading to one unforgettable day. John convinced Sarah to go on a picnic at Canyon Lake, but a fancy one “just for the fun of it.” To help keep the surprise hidden, the two also planned to go paddle boarding afterward. However, this was no ordinary picnic. Little did Sarah know, as she helped lay out the picnic blanket, she was also helping set up her proposal spot. John got down on one knee and asked Sarah if she would spend every day with him, and Sarah happily said yes!

  Our Second Trip

  Catching a natural high!

  Sarah won an out-of-state trip for her birthday from John during a game of Deal or No Deal, where she expertly played her way to the grand prize. Unbeknownst to Sarah, John had a master plan all along: during the trip, he would surprise her with engagement photos atop a beautiful Colorado mountain. The surprise was revealed during the trip, and Sarah ended up buying a dress for the photoshoot at TJ Maxx the very same day. It all worked out perfectly, and the photos can now be seen throughout this website. In addition, the two were able to cross another state off the list, and this trip serves as a beautiful reminder for what lies ahead.
